Yuan Ze University held the inauguration ceremony of its College of Medicine & Nursing on October 2, 2025, symbolizing a major step forward in the university’s development of smart healthcare education. The event, presided over by President Ching-Jung Liao, was attended by faculty, students, and distinguished guests who witnessed this significant milestone in the integration of medical, health, and engineering disciplines.

The establishment of Yuan Ze’s College of Medicine & Nursing originated from an initiative by Dr. Chu Shu-Hsun, Vice Chairman of the Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, and was fully supported by Chairman Douglas Hsu of the Far Eastern Group. The planning began in late 2017, underwent multiple stages of review and deliberation, and was officially approved by the Ministry of Education in the second semester of the 2024 academic year.

Currently, the college includes the Graduate Institute of Medicine, the Department of Nursing, and the Graduate Institute of Biotechnology and Bioengineering (transferred from the College of Engineering). Looking ahead, Yuan Ze University will continue expanding new programs to build a comprehensive medical and healthcare education system, nurturing professionals who combine clinical competence with innovative thinking in smart healthcare and holistic patient care.
